Neeley & Mike - Married

Back when I first met Neeley & Mike at a local coffee shop, it was hot summer day so we grabbed a frozen yogurt to cool off and we started to get to know one another. They also introduced me to their beautifully adorable daughter, who with an incredible amount of patience for a toddler , proceeded to watch me rather closely and carefully as I spoke with her parents about the plans for their big day.

A couple of months passed by and we would meet again for their engagement/family photos. Mike’s hair looking as perfect as ever, Neeley, a permanent sparkle in her eye, and their daughter even cuter than the last time I saw her, (if that was even possible)! We captured some truly amazing candid images and shared some apples in the orchard all while getting to know one and other just a little bit more.

Finally, a year later, their wedding day was upon us and after working with and getting to know Mike & Neeley prior to this pinnacle moment, I was no longer just a hired photographer, I was also a friend. Neeley looked ravishing in her elegant dress while a dapper & sharp Mike waited outside in anticipation to see her. Once they finally saw one another for the first time on their wedding day, the joy in Mike’s eyes, to see his lady, the emotion, I had to keep the camera over my face for longer than I was shooting, *sniff* it was a truly touching moment.

I saw that same look in his eyes a couple of hours later as she would walk down the aisle to meet him and finally take his hand. It was incredibly endearing, it once again left my eyes a tad bit moist. It truly was a special moment and I’m a sucker for getting choked up not when the bride gets emotional, but when the groom does.

This day is one I won’t soon forget because it wasn’t just Mike & Neeley that made it so memorable. I don’t believe I have worked with a wedding party quite as dedicated to the party as they were. I even left this wedding with a new nickname, (of which I actually couldn’t share here, even if I wanted to - this blog is PG)

To say that Predator Ridge Golf Resort and Lone Pine Ranch were incredibly gracious & prepared hosts, that would be a vast understatement. From the staff at the ridge who were incredibly helpful in getting us setup for the photos we needed, to the crew at the ranch who truly put on an amazing reception at their tremendously eye popping rustic venue - I would highly recommend these vendors to anyone looking for that perfect place to have the most memorable party of your life.

Shawn & Scott - Engaged

For a guy who is a volunteer fire-fighter, Scott sure isn't putting any fires out in these images with his fiancée - if anything they are starting one fire after another everywhere they stand, (or sit), in this photo set.  They're hot!!!  I can only imagine how hot they're gonna be, (or for that matter how hot it will be outside) for their mid-summer wedding.  Good thing there will be other Firefighters there just in case.

Just another fall day in paradise, at the beach.  Please enjoy these.  My thanks to the happy couple for letting me share these moments with you.

Kyana & Kyle - Engaged

The energy and love between these two could power a Harley devoid of fuel.  Kyana & Kyle recently moved to the Shuswap and when they contacted me to photograph them, I wanted to really leave them with the impression that they came to the right place to settle down.

The day of the session, we had amazing sunlight so I skipped out of work early to get to their house before we lost the sun.  I got there about 20 minutes before the sun disappeared behind the mountain and literally, the first shots of this set are taken within 5 minutes of us meeting each other.  That's how I have to roll sometimes.  In the end, we had a great time, got some amazingly beautiful images and now I look forward to photographing their hog-wild wedding later this summer.

These images should get your motor running!

Jori & Ryan's farm wedding

Jori and Ryan are a perfect example of how true love never dies, it only gets stronger with time.  When I first visited Jori & Ryan out on their farm, it was clear to me that they not only lived in paradise way out where they are, but being with each other WAS paradise.

I learned so much from these two.  I learned that hard work and true love bear the fruits of an incredible future and legacy that they will one day leave behind for their own children.  I learned that their love for their land and their animals knows no bounds and benefits so many of us who use the products as a result of their laborious  work.  I learned that simple living can be incredibly rewarding.  The very fact that these two have so many lessons to teach me as well as others just by being who they are makes Jori & Ryan two people I will surely not forget for a long time to come.

Oh, and the passion between these two.... Yowzas!  It shows through just in the way they look  at each other, reminding us all what TRUE love really looks Like.  Congratulations to both of your burning hearts!

{Special thanks to Stephanie for all her help iin teaming up with me for this wedding.  Her added talents were a great addition to this collection and considering the distances we covered that day, I'm not sure what I would have done without you :) }
