Rebecca & Kai - Married

When one of your good friends’ sister is getting married, and she calls you up and says, “how do you feel about helicopter rides"?”

You say heli-ya, let’s go!

Now, this isn’t my first time doing helicopter weddings, however it IS my first time flying through the Monashee mountains. Our destination was Mt. Begbie, just down the road from beautiful Revelstoke, BC. After a short instructional session and the official ceremony at Glacier Headquarters, (where Rebecca’s father made things official), we took to the skies in search of glacial paradise.

It didn’t take long for us to find the perfect spot and once we touched down, the countdown was on. We only had limited time before our ride returned, so we got down to business smelling, touching and exploring everything. Rebecca & Kai shared their vows with one another and had their first kiss with the majestic mountain as their unforgettable backdrop.

After that, we set off on a hike to find a spot to have a picnic, make a toast, and take some shots. I could have played up there all day. It sure helped that is was incredibly warm up there considering the altitude, snow, and time of year, we were even able to dip our toes in the perfectly serene glacial waters of the mountain. (We tried to convince the groom to go for a swim but damn it, there just wasn’t enough time).

Before you know it, two hours has come and gone and it’s time to go back. Our flying limousine picked us up, showed us a few more sights, and then took us safe and sound, back to the heli-base.

It goes without saying that I love an adventure. Assignments like this really inspire me to chase down even more mind blowing spots and beautiful destinations which sort of inspuired me to do this blog. Where will I end up next? Who knows, but another summer filled with wedded adventure is right around the corner and I’m right here for it!

Special thank you to Rebecca & Kai for entrusting me with the responsibility and honor, of capturing these truly memorable moments for them. They have been so kind to have me not only capture this special day, but also their family moments over the years. I am truly grateful for their friendship and continued support of my work.

Until next time!
